Liam Blakey
Liam Blakely is an undergraduate student at McGill University with a BA Honours’Political Science Degree and a Minor in Psychology. He has a devoted interest in thestudy of peace and conflict, immigration, and the environment, especially from aCanadianpolicy perspective. He has conducted research projects on the Canadiangovernment’s humanitarian response to the Taliban’s return to power in 2021, the gapin international refugee law regarding those displaced due to climate related reasons,and the development of a decision-support dashboard for facilitating communityalignment and sustainability goals in Arizona.Liam is passionate about justice in each of these areas and plans to apply to law schoolto continue his education. He is excited for the chance to work with such a dedicatedand talented group of people, and to join the push for legislative change in Canada forthe benefit of displaced Ukrainians.
