Charlie Richter
Charlie is responsible for building new partnerships and projects as well as developing APOPO’s independent US based 501c3 organization. Charlie joined the APOPO team in December 2014 and has focused most of his time on fundraising for APOPO’s animal-based mine detection programs across the globe. Charlie was one of the primary architects of the first ever Development Impact Bond linking Mine Action and Agriculture Development, which launched in Cambodia in April 2023, backed by the UK government. Charles is based in Washington DC. Previously he worked in business development and project management for Gallup, a large research and consulting firm, and One Economy, an international technology NGO. Charlie has his BA from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and his MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
