Amber Gallant is a second-year student at UBC’siSchool, and a graduatecandidate for the Master of Library and Information Studies, class of 2023.She is currently the project manager of the Guardians of the Record Lab, agroup that conducts research intomaintaining and protecting the integrity ofrecords in human rights contexts.Amber's professional interestslie in knowledge organization, datastewardship and ethics, and the sociotechnical aspects of technology.These interests inform her research focus as an intern with Peer Social,where she will be examining humanitarian blockchain projects through thelens of data justice and working on a set of design recommendations forcommunicating the affordances of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)design for the security and privacy of data.
