Landano

Managing land records can be a daunting task, particularly in regions where record-keeping practices are not standardized. Landano is revolutionizing the way people manage their property rights by creating secure, standards-compliant, and legally authoritative records via a user-friendly, decentralized digital platform. Landowners, leaseholders, governments and financing providers can all benefit from the improved security, access, transparency, and potential for empowerment that Landano provides.

Landano record-holders can leverage their credentials in a variety of ways, including mortgages, business loans, and leases; local authorities can use Landano to collect fees and resolve disputes— or prevent them before they occur. Our on-the-ground pilot projects in Ghana and Mozambique have given us unique insights that we are actively using to inform the ongoing development of our solution while also continuously improving it to benefit end users.

Landano has implemented a notarization process that leverages the power of the Cardano blockchain in order to create non-fungible, auditable land rights records. This technology ensures that land records are created transparently, that the rights they convey are secure, and that the record of their provenance is tamper-proof; this process eliminates the risk of fraud or corruption that can arise when records are managed manually.

Landano is actively collaborating with other entities operating in the GIS and cadastral community in order to make geospatial data publicly available and reusable, and we are pleased to be part of the Peace Coalition community.
